Question: How do you plan to handle user information associated with an annotation? There are issues with intellectual property rights and privacy.
Response: NSDL Developers are exploring these issues. We are aware of the balance between intellectual property rights, with users desire to have credit for their ideas, and privacy, maintaining the security of user identifiable information. The proposed nsdl_anno framework has fields to store data about the person and/or organization associated with the annotation. For example, one can specify the person's name, and an identifier that uniquely identifies them.
